If I am not mistaken you can not just use any Flash chip at least with the firmware from 5. This is correct- I’ve been pre-programming my chips with 5. Apart from dancing naked under a full moon and similar tricks, one thing that the internet agrees siliocn is that compatibility with older systems was broken severely with BIOS v.

I can check the cards I have to see what version they have on them. But it was a long way to get the new version 5. The manual doesnt describe a parameter for this?
